SCREEN 2.0

In collaboration with GE Healthcare, and the Government of Assam, PPHF implemented the SCREEN 2.0 program in four block primary health centers (BPHCs) located in Kamrup Rural, Barpeta and Majuli districts of Assam. The program aimed to improve the primary healthcare needs of underprivileged populations in the area with regard to NCDs by intensifying efforts to improve NCD outcomes, strengthening NCD service delivery, and raising community awareness through population- based screening. In the first year (2022), a rapid formative assessment was conducted to understand the status of NCD service delivery. In the second year (2022-2023), PPHF team continued to mentor the SHC and PHC staff and assisted in population-based screening through outreach camps in four BPHCs. Healthcare professionals, including ASHAs, ANMs, LHVs, CHOs, and MOs from the intervention BPHCs, were trained on NCDs and counselling skills.

Project Impact:

  • Project has capacitated approximately 571 Government healthcare providers
  • Screened more than 23,000 people through 545 NCD screening camps. 
  • 25 Awareness programs organised
  • Digitisation of record of more than 16000 patients

Success Indicators:

  • Increased screening for NCDs
  • Increased NCD fund utilization & allocation
  • Increased follow-up for NCDs
  • Increased referral of complicated NCD cases in a timely manner

  • Preparation of Rapid Formative Assessment report on NCD services
