PPHF and SBI Foundation Conduct Leprosy Awareness Camp Reaching Over 500 Individuals

People to People Health Foundation (PPHF), in collaboration with SBI Foundation’s Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels, conducted a leprosy awareness and medical counseling camp from January 26-28, 2025, across 12 villages in Kishanganj and Shahabad blocks, reaching more than 500 individuals. The camp provided vital information on leprosy, a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae, which affects the skin, nerves, and mucous membranes, potentially leading to permanent disability if untreated. Attendees were informed about the government’s support, including a ₹2500 monthly pension for leprosy patients and free treatment with Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT) available at government hospitals.
