Under the Holistic Rural Development Program (HRDP), supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan and implemented by People to People Health Foundation (PPHF), PPHF West Sikkim has established a Farm Field School at Yuksom to strengthen livelihoods and promote sustainable horticulture in the region. The initiative focuses on a tissue culture nursery unit catering to the needs of the surrounding villages by providing mother plants of apple (Gala variety), apricot, kiwi, Kashmiri pear, lemon, and stevia, along with sprinkler irrigation systems, apiculture, and multi-crop cultivation practices. It promotes cross-learning of agripreneurial activities and hands-on training for local youth. Through HRDP and HDFC Bank Parivartan, PPHF continues to empower communities by building resilient, knowledge-driven rural livelihoods.
