The launch of Project Charaka marked a transformative milestone in primary healthcare in India, with the presence and encouragement of key dignitaries such as Shri Dharam Pal, Dr. Varinder Garg, Dr. Shankar Prinja, Dr Brahmdeep Sindhu M.D. , FIPS , FHM, among others. The continued support and guidance from our partners and district administration have been instrumental in this journey. A key highlight was the endorsement and appreciation from Dr. Jitendra Singh, Honourable Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, and Dr. VK Paul, Hon’ble Member (Health), NITI Aayog, who emphasized the importance of complementing lab investigations at PHCs with virtual specialist consultations, alongside physical consultations when necessary, to ensure optimal health outcomes.
The event kicked off with an engaging panel discussion on the ‘Future of Digital Health in the Indian Healthcare System,’ featuring Dr. ashoo grover, Himanshu Burad, and Dr. Ravinder Singh, moderated by Dr Laxmikant Palo, PhD.
The event concluded with the unveiling of the FHCD Tele Health Kiosk, along with live demonstrations. Additionally, the event marked the release of a Rapid Formative Assessment (RFA) Report and a Health Technology Assessment Report, detailing key findings from the project’s implementation and offering a strategic roadmap for scaling telehealth services across India.
