Tribal Traditions and Trades: Promoting Entrepreneurship at the Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi Festival

As part of HRDP,  PPHF celebrated the Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi festival this year along with the Singpho community by setting up an exhibition stall amidst huge gathering of the tribal communities from 13th Feb.’24 to 15th Feb.’2024. In the exhibition, the farmers/entrepreneurs of the selected village brought their fresh and value added products to showcase as well as sell in the festival. Apart from agro-based products, handloom and handicrafts products were also displayed and sold. It was a great opportunity for the farmers to showcase their products where many VIPs including Shri Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Deputy CM Shri Chowna Mein, Hon’ble MP Shri Tapir Gaon visited the along with various other MLAs, Officers, guest and dignitaries. Overall, the Exhibition setup by PPHF’s HRDP team in the festival was quite a learning experience which could be replicated in the events in near future and also an encouraging experience for the farmers who participated in the festival.
