Wipro GE, & PPHF partner with Karnataka govt to set up COVID-19 referral hospital in Bengaluru and Ramanagara

Wipro GE Healthcare and its non-governmental organisation (NGO) People to People Health Foundation (PPHF) have partnered with the Karnataka department of health and family welfare set up an isolation centre with 50-beds and an ICU comprising of 9 motorized beds. The facility is the state government’s administrative office at Kandhya Bhawan, Ramanagaram which is now a dedicated COVID-19 referral hospital. Wipro and PPHF have also provided 500 PPEs (personal protective equipment) and N95 masks to ensure safety of doctors and frontline healthcare workers in Bengaluru,

We appreciate the timely support from Wipro GE Healthcare and People to People Health Foundation to set up a dedicated COVID-19 referral hospital and donating essential protective supplies to the emergency responders, said Karnataka health and facility welfare minister B Sriramulu.

In yet another effort both Wipro and PPHF enabled Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi to establish a dedicated COVID 19 Hospital: Block 1 and Block 2, along with a 5-floor Isolation Centre to support the increasing demand of COVID-19 patients. Here too 90 isolation beds and a dedicated ICU comprising of 30 motorized beds was set up. In addition, 500 PPE kits and N95 masks were provided to doctors and healthcare workers.

“An unimaginable crisis has surrounded us, and our collective response will save lives. PPHF being a public health organization is collaborating with private sectors and extending its support to the government of India on strengthening the health system infrastructure by providing life supporting medical equipment and supplies to COVID-19 hospitals. Besides it extends support to healthcare workers on infection prevention and hygiene promotion activities in the community,” said Dr Laxmikant Palo, CEO, PPHF.
