On May 13, 2024, the Primary Health Center in Maan, Pune, celebrated World Asthma Day with a special event. A pulmonary function test screening camp was organized to raise awareness about asthma and the importance of regular check-ups.
Attendees, including individuals who had successfully completed tuberculosis (TB) treatment, participated in the camp. Lung infection screenings were conducted for 27 individuals using a spirometer, a device designed to quickly assess respiratory conditions.
Health workers provided counseling on diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes to those who completed the examination. Additionally, free Breathing Exercise/Deep Breathing Exerciser devices were distributed to those in need.
This event emphasized the significance of early detection and proper management of asthma and other respiratory conditions.
