About the Project
This initiative focuses on bridging the skills gap among healthcare professionals for effective implementation of non-communicable disease (NCD) programmes. Implemented by PPHF in partnership with NHM Uttar Pradesh, United Way of Delhi, and Eli Lilly, the project aims to build a cadre of trained medical officers as master trainers under the Ayushman Bharat Initiative. The programme combines structured training with state-level consultations to strengthen NCD programme implementation and policy alignment.
Project Objectives
Build capacity of medical officers as district-level trainers for NCD programme implementation
Strengthen patient-centric care practices among healthcare providers
Facilitate state-level consultations to identify and address implementation gaps
Support development of actionable, state-owned recommendations for NCD programmes
Expected Outcomes
- Improved capacity of medical officers in NCD prevention and management
- Creation of a pool of district-level NCD trainers for cascade training
- Development of standardised training curriculum aligned with national guidelines (NPCDCS and PBS)
- State-owned recommendations for strengthening NCD programme implementation
- Increased government engagement and resource allocation for NCD programmes
- Improved knowledge outcomes reflected in enhanced post-training performance of participants
