Key Data

1. Implementation Geography:  8 villages of Namsai and 7 of Lower Dibang Valley District, Arunachal Pradesh

2. Donor: HDFC Parivartan

In a concerted effort spearheaded by HDFC Bank’s Parivartan initiative and implemented by the People-to-People Health Foundation, the Holistic Rural Development Program aims to transform the lives of approximately 2,500 marginalized tribal individuals in 15 villages of Namsai and Lower Dibang Valley districts. This comprehensive development agenda spans a three-year timeline, focusing on amplifying local capacities, enhancing healthcare, improving educational access, and sustainable management of natural resources.

The project addresses fundamental needs through a multipronged approach. It fosters community empowerment and better resource management by upgrading essential services like Integrated Child Development Service Centres and primary healthcare facilities, installing solar streetlights, and facilitating clean water initiatives. In the domain of education, interventions are directed towards enhancing digital literacy and the refurbishment of primary schools to curb drop-out rates and promote quality education.

Integral to the project’s strategy are efforts to bolster financial literacy and inclusion, alongside celebrating social events that knit the community closer, thereby ensuring holistic social upliftment. Despite its early stages, the initiatives like training local volunteers in disaster resilience and setting up solar-powered amenities are laying the groundwork for sustainable development and an improved quality of life for the tribal population.

Program Objectives

The Holistic Rural Development Programme in Arunachal Pradesh aims to transform the lives of 2500 marginalized tribal individuals across 15 villages by 2026. This initiative focuses on comprehensive development, encompassing skill enhancement, livelihood creation, healthcare, education, and sustainable natural resource management.
