Medical Camp Held in Gara to Examine Non-Communicable Diseases and Provide Consultation

Bara CMHO Dr. Sampatraj Nagar informed that a medical camp was organized in Gara to examine non-communicable diseases and provide consultations. He mentioned that screenings were conducted for high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and other such diseases.

Dr. Sampatraj Nagar stated that in Gara, with the help of the health department, a free NCD camp was set up by Peepal to People Health Foundation (P2PHF). P2PHF’s project coordinator Akash Meena informed that free health check-ups and consultations were provided in the camp for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. Free health check-ups were also conducted for healthy individuals. Spirometry tests were done to determine lung function and identify respiratory problems.

The camp conducted tests for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, etc. Spirometry tests assessed lung function. Over 120 people received consultations from the camp. Among them, 97 people were tested for high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. Free consultations and health advice were given to 97 individuals. Additionally, 12 people were referred for special health services.

ASHA workers, informed by DPHE Coordinator Dharam Nirvikar, emphasized the need for vigilance in their work areas, particularly in view of the current time’s special caution requirements. They increased home contact activities to educate people about heatwave precautions and provided immediate primary treatment to those affected by the heat, directing them to medical institutions with the help of 104/108 services.

During this period, district IEC coordinator Nitin Sharma, Dr. Bujra Bahadur Suman, Dr. Mohit Nagar, CMO, ANM, ASHA, and other officials were present.
