Anemia Awareness Camp Organised

On October 27 and 30, 2023, People to People Health Foundation (PPHF) organized an anemia awareness camp for adolescent girls in Tribal Residential Hostel, Shahabad, and Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Hostel, Kishanganj.

During this camp, 365 girls from the hostels actively participated, 118 of whom underwent a hemoglobin (Hb) check-up. Among them, 70 girls had Hb levels between 9 and 11 g/dL, while 48 girls had Hb levels ranging from 7 to 9 g/dL. The girls with Hb levels between 7 and 9 g/dL, received iron and folic acid tablets along with detailed guidance on their intake and were advised to consult nearby CHC. Girls with Hb levels between 9 and 11 g/dL also received iron and folic acid tablets. But that’s not all! Nutrition counseling sessions were also conducted to enlighten the participants about the importance of nutrition for maintaining good health. This initiative aims to improve the health and well-being of the young girls. The drive is part of the SBI Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels, supported by SBI Foundation and SBI Securities.
