People to People Health Foundation (PPHF) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first batch of weaving training for 20 artisans. The training is part of the “Sustainable Livelihood Initiatives to Support the Wellbeing of Artisans” project, generously supported by SBI Securities. The initiative aims to empower artisans in Berhampur, focusing on weaving, dyeing, coloring, and designing techniques for handloom pattu sarees.
Under this project, the artisans have undergone comprehensive training to enhance their skills in various aspects of the craft. The goal is to contribute to the economic stability of these skilled individuals while preserving the rich cultural heritage associated with handloom weaving.
The program envisions a sustainable future for these artisans, promoting economic stability and cultural preservation. More training sessions are currently underway as part of this initiative, reflecting PPHF’s commitment to empowering artisans and fostering a thriving community.
