Under the SAMARTH Project, People to People Health Foundation – Asia in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, came together to mark World Breastfeeding Week 2023. The event witnessed the presence of DPO Kolkata, along with CDPO, Supervisors, and Anganwadi Workers. The occasion featured a range of activities including a street play, video show, an informative session to raise awareness, and a practical demonstration of handwashing techniques. The Anganwadi Centre under the Bortala ICDS project in Ward 32 saw the participation of mothers with children aged up to 2 years. SAMARTH Project is supported by Cognizant Foundation India
Another activity was conducted by the project team at village Tilgawa, Block Shahabad, Rajasthan. The session focused on early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and complementary feeding after six months with continued breastfeeding up to 2 years of age or beyond. The project is supported by SBI Foundation and SBI Cap Securities.
